Beijing (China) .- The American Lindsay Davenport, Atlanta'96
Olympic champion and former world number one, has caused low by injury
at the tournament single female Olympic tennis, as announced by the
U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC).
Davenport, who had been paired in the draw with Australian Alicia
Molik, has had to resign because they were not in perfect condition
because of muscle problems that will be made outside the circuit since
June.
However, the tennis player of Palos Verdes (Calif.) still hopes to play doubles in the box next to Liezel Huber.
With 32 years, Davenport, the daughter of Wink Davenport, a member
of the U.S. volleyball team that participated in the 1968 Mexico Games,
returned to the circuit last year after her maternity, in a return with
good results and this year I had the quote from Beijing as a major goal.
