Rafael Nadal Parera - Rafa born on June 9, 1986, in Mallorca is Spanish specialized tennis player. He is world number two player and is a four time French Open singles champion, and a two time singles runner-up at the Wimbledon in 2006-07. He is as well known as Rafa.
An influential, exciting player, he is a pleasure to watch and has exposed flashes of brilliancy in what is expectantly a long and winning career. In 2002 he won his former ATP match, by defeating Ramon Delgado to become the 9th player in open era to win the ATP match prior his 16th birthday. In 2003 he became second youngest player who got ranked world’s top 100 singles tennis players. At his Wimbledon first appearance, he became the youngest male tennis player to get to the third round like 16 year old Boris Becker in 1984. In 2005 at the Australian Open, he attained the fourth round and reached the final of Miami Masters contest and was at last got defeated by Roger Federer.
In clay court season, he had won two ATP Masters Series proceedings in Monte Carlo and Rome. He won 24 successive matches, the best winning line for any teenager in open era, in 1988 topping Agassi’s 23 matches run. He reached top 5 in the world status, becoming youngest player to break in the top 10. He then entered first French Open and beaten Sebastien Grosjean and Richard Gasquet, to attain semifinals. He began his 2005 hard court period by defeating Agassi in final of the Canada Masters. American James Blake in four sets however eliminated him and he came second at the U.S. Open in third round. In spite of the loss, his next seeding and third round show were both profession highs.
After U.S. Open, Nadal succeeded two more tournaments. In September, Nadal defeated Guillermo Coria in the final of China Open in Beijing, in October, he won fourth Masters Series event, by defeating Ivan Ljubicic in five sets of Madrid Masters. He after that suffered from a foot injury, which kept him away from the Tennis Masters Cup in 2005 and start of 2006, he missed the Australian Open.
In 2007 he reached at the semifinals of Chennai Open in India, where Xavier Malisse defeated Nadal. At his subsequent match in Sydney, Australia, he got retired from his first tournament against Chris Guccione with the groin injury. At Australian Open, he defeated Andy Murray to arrive at the quarterfinals, where he again lost to Fernando Gonzalez. Again in the quarterfinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships, he lost to Mikhail Youzhny. He then played at Pacific Life Open in California, where he defeated Novak Ðjokovic in final. He then defeated Federer in a final of Monte Carlo Masters. There he won an Open Seat in Spain, by defeating Guillermo Cañas. He defeated Fernando Gonzalez at the Rome Masters.
