In the 44 seconds of the seventh assault, the American referee Tony Weeks, with good success, stopped the unequal battle when Rahman, cornered on the ropes, suffered harsh punishment.
The fight lacked history and the only question was how long the boxer aguantarÃa color, which was reached again and again with a left jab from the champion for 32 years who achieved the 55th victory of his career with 46 KO.
Rahman, 36, in the sixth round went to the canvas of a fulminating gacho from left, spent virtually the fight covered with double-duty and dreaming of a ‘lucky punch’ that made history in April 2001 to noquear to then-champion Lennox Lewis. He suffered the sixth defeat of his career, five of them by KO.
In another bout, the veteran 41-year-old American boxer Riddick ‘Big Daddy’ Bowe, in the 90s world champion heavyweight of the four organizations (CMB, AMB, OMB and FIB), caused a poor impression. Slowly, without physical condition, he spent struggling to defeat for points in eight rounds at the Berlin Pukall Gene, 33, a second child of German boxing, which today suffered the 15th defeat of his career.
